Journal assignment

One of the main sources of information in theory and research in applied linguistics are articles published in different professional and specialized journals. In today’s class we will learn a bit more about some of the journals in our field. The aim is that you get familiar with the journals and with the type of articles they publish. This knowledge will be useful not only for this course, but for your future studies, specially when you have to write your thesis proposal. Follow the instructions:

1. Visit this referential web site giving a brief overview of journals, articles and types of articles.

2. Read about what indexation or citation indexing is. You will need to understand this concept.

3. In the right panel of our blog, there is a list of some open-access journals. Choose one.

4. After selecting a journal, click here: About a journal fill in the form with the required information about the journal.

5. Then choose an issue from that journal (or a different one if you prefer) and complete the information About an issue.

6. In the same issue from the previous part (or any other issue available) choose one of the articles and then fill-in the form About an article.

7. If you need further help, watch this tutorial.
